Members Benefits

Members of The Signing Spot will benefit from membership by developing confidence in their language skills with other members, deepening their cultural knowledge and competency, establishing and strengthening their community both on and off campus, and enhancing their community engagement with real-life skills. The Signing Spot stands to serve as a cultural and communicative bridge between ASL in campus classrooms and real-life application and use of ASL with the local Deaf community. Club Members will get more exposure to language use in welcoming and enriching environments that promote collaboration between all members.

Cultural Awareness: Members will learn about Deaf culture, history, and etiquette to promote respect and inclusivity.

Social Connections: Members will meet like-minded individuals, build friendships, and practice ASL in a fun, low-pressure environment.

Community Engagement: Members will have the opportunity to participate in events that connect with the local Deaf community.
