FIRST TIME FRESHMEN ONLY
Didn’t make it to our June summer orientation sessions? No problem! We are offering an abbreviated in-person orientation session on August 22, 2024, for those who were unable to attend in person.
After you move in, please join us for a brief but informative orientation where you will have the opportunity to:
- Connect with other new students.
- Meet our amazing orientation leaders.
- Learn about the various resources available to you on campus.
Don’t miss this chance to get a head start on your college journey and make some new friends! We look forward to seeing you there.

Join us for a moderated book discussion addressing this year's book: The War for Kindness: Building Empathy in a Fractured World!
According to the author Jamil Zaki, we engage with more people today than ever before, yet we genuinely know fewer of them. Kindness has the potential to foster a sense of community and belonging in our society. Join us for a facilitated discussion on envisioning a CSUMB where kindness prominently influences all aspects of campus life.
No prior reading of the book is required to participate in the discussion. The first 100 attendees will receive a free book!
