Mission The Black Students United at California State University Monterey Bay is a campus organization that supports Black students by promoting cultural enrichment, relationship building, and connecting students to resources. Our mission as an organization is not only to build connections between Black students and students of all demographics on campus, but also to give students an outlet to express themselves with the support of their peers, whether it be through education, cultural activities, or just having fun.
Membership BenefitsMembershipAll BSU Cabinet Members must be enrolled and in good standing at the university, maintain a 2.5 grade point average (GPA) each term, and not be on probation of any kind. (I.e. Academic probation, Housing Probation etc.) Eligibility for membership or appointed or elected student officer positions shall not be limited on the basis of race, religion, national origin, ethnicity, color, age, gender identity, marital status, citizenship, sexual orientation, or disability. The organization shall have no rules or policies that discriminate on the basis of race, religion, national origin, ethnicity, color, age, gender, gender identity, marital status, citizenship, sexual orientation, or disability.This organization shall prohibit all members and officers from engaging in hazing or committing any act that injures, degrades or disgraces any fellow student.CSU State Standard says that the Treasurer and the President of any on-campus club cannot have less than a 2.5 cumulative GPA and ICC GPA is 2.3.
