Happy Black History Month! Did you know that collegiate recreation shares roots with historically black colleges and universities? NIRSA, the association for Intramural-Recreational Sports, was founded by Dr. William N. Wasson looking to create inclusive opportunities for students. Join us this month as we celebrate our inclusive campus and amazing program areas!
Please join CSUMB Recreation on February 22, 2023 from 11am-3pm in celebrating collegiate recreation! We'll be showcasing each of our program areas and the different ways we like to recreate on this campus through sports activities, group bike rides, music, games, and much more!
On this day we remember the vision set in motion by Dr. William N. Wasson and his esteemed colleagues: To celebrate health, activity, competition, and inclusivity.
This is a PICK'EM Challenge hosted by your Intramural Sports program. Winner will receive an Intramural Champion t-shirt and bragging rights for the entire year. Registration closes on February 11.

Join Outdoor Recreation for a camping adventure to Mt. Madonna in the Santa Cruz Mountains! Participants can enjoy beautiful hikes, amazing wildlife and more!
Last month our pro staff and student staff gathered on campus for a retreat covering Recreation's mission and vision. Two days of team-building activities to get everyone excited about working together this semester!
Outdoor Leader Training at Pinnacles National Park
Last month our Outdoor Leaders ventured to Pinnacles National Park for a two-day camping trip to get prepared for upcoming Outdoor Rec events!
First Friday MTB Ride 1/27
Ride Leaders led students on the first Friday MTB Ride of the semester! Participants biked a total of 12.3 miles and enjoyed beautiful blue skies and amazing views of Fort Ord.
First Sunset Hike 1/28
Our Outdoor Leaders led students on the first Sunset Hike of the semester! Participants walked a total of 4.73 miles and, although the weather was a bit foggy, were able to enjoy a lovely sunset.
First Coastal Ride 1/29
Last week Otter Cycle Center's Ride Leaders took students on the first Coastal Bike Ride of the semester! Participants walked a total of 16.98 miles along the beautiful Monterey Coastal Trail.
