About Us

The purpose of this organization is to start the conversation about mental health, teach students to prioritize their mental health by providing coping strategies, and create a safe space for students to discuss their mental health journey. We do this through our events, meetings, and training we facilitate.

Members Benefits

Being a part of Active Minds means gaining skills in different areas such as: - Team Work because everyone works together to contribute to the club’s success. - Public Speaking because we have events that officers facilitate and have to present to other students/staff on campus. - Communication because we have to communicate with each other to ensure that our club’s goals are being met. - Building relationships with those in the club by getting to know each other through club meetings and events. - Empathy/Sympathy by learning the Validate, Appreciate, Refer, (VAR) method that helps students how to support their peers and loved ones through their struggles. - Planning and organizing events. - Learning to prioritize your mental health by engaging in our self-care activities and conversations about mental health.
