Come join the Otter Cross Cultural Center and Associated Students for another exciting Earth Day Fest Event! It is important to acknowledge that a sustainable future starts by acknowledging who is being the most impacted by anthropogenic climate change and uplift those voices at the forefront of this movement. We will discuss what environmental justice efforts look like around the world and how Black, Indigenous, and People of Color (BIPOC) experiences impact this movement. The film Oyate, directed by Brandon Jackson and Emil Benjamin, will be screened which showcases the efforts by the people of Standing Rock to defend their land and water from the threat of the Dakota Access Pipeline and highlighting the intersectionality between human rights and environmental justice. A discussion will follow! This will be held on Wednesday April 23 at the OSU Rm 310 from 4pm - 6pm.
