Teacher/ Educational Recruitment Virtual Fair 2022
This year's career fair will differ from the traditional in-person event. This year the teacher/educational career fair will be held virtually, and there are very specific steps to follow in order to have interviews scheduled.
Who should attend?
- Teacher candidates who have a California preliminary (or will be receiving a preliminary credential at the end of this year), interns, or professional clear teaching credential
- Teacher candidates who have a credential from outside California
- Prospective Intern students, Master of Social Work, and School of Psychology, Human Development & Family Science
Dates: February 24 & 25th, 2022
Time: 1-5 PM (PST)
Location: Virtually (Zoom)
This year students will be required to complete a few steps to be considered for an interview at our Virtual Teacher Education Recruitment Fair.
Step 1: Fill out the Google Form
You will be asked to submit a draft of your resume and cover letter as part of the google form. Attendance at a resume workshop will be required to be considered for an interview. If you are attending the fair to visit the virtual tabling and learn more about the school district opportunities you are not required to attend the workshop.
Step 2: RSVP for a Workshop
Workshop Date: Feb 02, 2022 (12-1PM) OR (4-5PM)
In this workshop, we will cover resumes and cover letter writing. After participating in this workshop, you will be provided with access to the school district's resume book for employers to review your resume.
Step 3: Send Revised Resume
After attending a resume and cover letter workshop, submit your revised resume to Shaun Levy shlevy@csumb.edu or Marc Garcia Marcgarcia2@csumb.edu to review your resume and email you a link to submit it to The School Districts Resume Book. At that point, school districts can review your resume and start considering you for an interview.
The deadline to submit your resume to Shaun Levy or Marc Garcia for review is February 12, 2022. If you cannot attend the workshops, make a 1-1 appointment with a career advisor to review your resume.
Step 4: Register for the Fair
The fair will include virtual tabling and some students will be invited for an interview. **If selected for an interview, a staff member from Career Development will contact you.
The virtual tabling and interviews will be on February 24th and February 25th from 1pm - 5pm.
Step 5: Research School Districts
While school districts are reviewing your resume, you should be researching all school districts you are considering as possible employers. Participating School district and job openings will be on this website page starting Feb 1st.
