Thank you for signing up for La Exploración happening right after The Plunge! Please keep reading for more information on Sunday's (8/24) event and be sure to bring your walking shoes if you're participating in The Plunge beforehand. Our team will have a check-in table closest to the Wharf parking lot where you might see people fishing off the dock. DON'T FORGET YOUR ID if you plan on taking the city bus back to campus.

Get to know the area!

If you're anything like most college students, you're probably not sure what there is to do for fun in Monterey. As a local, I was right there with you growing up because I didn't have the luxury of exploring what was around me. But, there is so much to experience in this area and if you give it a chance to show you what it has to offer you won't regret it! 

On this event we will have six main stops from The Plunge (at Del Monte Beach) to the Monterey Salinas Transit (MST) Station. We will go to Fisherman's Wharf, check out some hidden study gems, and point out great eateries to dine at for special occasions - like acing that first semester!! Bring some $$ if you would like to shop.

Learn how to ride the bus!

There are two main goals with this event. 1. Understand what your new home has to offer (even if you're originally from the area) and 2. Get used to/learn how to use the bus that is available to you with your OtterID. Before you keep reading, DO NOT FORGET TO BRING YOUR ID IF YOU NEED A RIDE BACK TO CAMPUS. 

We know it can seem daunting to ride the city bus and/or it can feel like you're stuck on campus when you would rather stay in your room than ride the bus alone. We got you covered!! After we explore downtown we will show you just how easy it is to get back to campus FOR FREE!
